Privacy Policy

At Gradly, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Platform"), whether you are a student, tutor, or visitor.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect personal information when you register, book sessions, apply to teach, or otherwise interact with Gradly, including:

  • Account details — name, email address, password or sign-in credentials (including when you use third-party login such as Google), and account preferences
  • Profile information — for tutors and students, this may include photos, introductions, subjects, languages, country, education, certifications, availability, and public profile content
  • Booking and session data — scheduled lessons, session history, messages between students and tutors, and related support communications
  • Payment information — billing details and transaction records. Card payments are processed by our payment partners (such as Stripe); Gradly does not store your full card number
  • Usage and technical data — device type, browser, IP address, log data, cookies, and how you use the Platform to help us operate, secure, and improve our services

You may choose not to provide certain information, but some features (such as booking a tutor or receiving payouts) may not be available without it.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Platform
  • Enable tutor discovery, bookings, live or online sessions, messaging, and learning tools such as Worksheets
  • Process payments, payouts, and related notifications
  • Review tutor applications and maintain trust and safety on the Platform
  • Communicate with you about your account, bookings, and service updates
  • Improve features, troubleshoot issues, and analyze usage trends
  • Detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents and enforce our Terms of Use
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only as needed to run Gradly, including with:

  • Service providers — trusted vendors that help us with hosting, authentication, payments, email, analytics, video sessions, and customer support, under contractual obligations to protect your data
  • Other users— information you choose to make public on your profile or share in messages and bookings (for example, a tutor's public profile visible to students)
  • Legal and safety — regulators, law enforcement, or other parties when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Platform
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality safeguards

4. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your login details confidential. For more on our security practices, see our Trust Centre.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, update, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.

You can:

  • Update much of your profile and account information in your dashboard settings
  • Manage certain notification and privacy preferences where available in the app
  • Request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us through the Help Center
  • Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in those messages

We may retain some information as required for legal, accounting, or security purposes, or to resolve disputes.

6. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality.

7. Children

Gradly is intended for users who can enter into a binding agreement under applicable law. If you are under the age required in your country, you may use the Platform only with involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe we have collected information from a child without appropriate consent, please contact us through the Help Center.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the effective date below. Your continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
